HERSHEY, Pennsylvania (Reuters) – Hershey Co (NYSE:-RRB- is seeking to minimize “trace” quantities of lead and cadmium in its chocolate, primary monetary officer Steve Voskiul informed Reuters on Wednesday, after Customer Reports discovered that some dark chocolate bars had possibly hazardous levels of the heavy metals.
Customer Reports, a not-for-profit customer group, evaluated chocolate bars consisting of those made by Hershey late in 2015 and discovered that a few of them included perhaps hazardous levels of lead, cadmium or both for individuals who consume more than one ounce each day.
