Pro Football Hall of Famer Bob Brown, who John Madden as soon as called “the most aggressive lineman that ever played,” passed away Friday, the Hall of Popularity revealed Saturday. He was 81.
Brown was prepared by the Philadelphia Eagles with the 2nd general choice in the 1964 NFL draft. The Cleveland native and Nebraska item, nicknamed “Boomer,” invested 5 seasons with the Eagles, 2 with the Rams and the last 3 years of his profession with the Raiders.

He was a six-time Pro Bowl choice and was called first string All-Pro in 5 of his 10 seasons (and made 3 other second-team nods). Brown was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Popularity in 2004.
” Bob Brown showed various characters on and off the field,” Pro Football Hall of Popularity president Jim Porter stated in a declaration. “On the field, he was as strong a challenger as any protective linemen or linebacker ever dealt with. He utilized every strategy and method– and in some cases strength– to squash the will of the individual throughout the line from him. And took excellent pride in doing so.
” Yet off the field, he showed a peaceful, soft-spoken and caring nature that his boy, Robert Jr., caught eloquently when he provided his father for enshrinement in 2004. The Hall extends its ideas and prayers to CeCe and Robert Jr. for their loss.”
