For law practice supervisors, the recruiting market is a needed evil. Nobody wishes to be paying substantial commissions to “headhunters” in order to induce lateral skill who might or might not in fact remain and make contributions to the company’s long-lasting success. However they can’t pull out of the video game either. How else to determine the required names to fill spaces left by departures and retirements or strengthen underperforming practice locations that matter to crucial customers or are nearby to existing strengths?
